This season marks the 150th anniversary of college football. . A panel of 150 media members, athletic administrators and former players and coaches was assembled. . They helped to select ESPN's list of top college teams of all-time. . 1. 1971 Nebraska, 13-0 Nebraska defeated No. 2, No. 3 and No. 4 in the season's final poll. 2. 2004 USC, 13-0 The Trojans won back-to-back championships, remaining No. 1 all season. . 3. 1972 USC, 12-0 The Trojans won their third national title in 11 seasons under coach John McKay. 4. 1995 Nebraska, 12-0 The Huskers won every game by at least 14 points. . 5. 2018 Clemson, 15-0 The Tigers defending national champion Alabama 44-16 in the championship game. . 6. 2005 Texas, 13-0 The Longhorns upset No. 1 USC 41-38, ending the Trojans' 34-game winning streak. . 7. 2001 Miami, 12-0 The Hurricanes extended their win streak to 22 games by winning the championship game. 8. 1979 Alabama, 12-0 This was coach Paul "Bear" Bryant's sixth and final championship team. 9. 1956 Oklahoma, 10-0 The Sooners completed their third straight undefeated season. 10. 2009 Alabama, 14-0 Alabama won the first of five national championships under coach Nick Saban.
