Opioid Distributors May Have Proposed a $10 Billion Settlement

The three drug distributors that reportedly made the proposal are McKesson, AmerisourceBergen and Cardinal Health.It was reportedly made during talks with several state attorneys general.The National Association of Attorneys General made a counter demand of $45 billion.Reports of the offer caused drug distributor stocks to tumble.Thousands of cases against makers and distributors of opioids are now being consolidated. Opioid litigation is being compared to the master settlement tobacco companies made in the mid-1990s. 130 Americans die from opioid abuse daily.
