A Bugatti Breaks 300mph, Shattering the Record

The Bugatti Chiron is the first car from a "production auto manufacturer" to ever exceed 300 mph. A production auto manufacturer produces cars for public roads. . Driven by test driver Andy Wallace, the modified Chiron was clocked at 304.8 mph on Volkswagen's German test track, Ehra-Lessien. It's inconceivable that a car would be capable of this. But the Chiron was well prepared and I felt very safe — even in these high speed ranges, Andy Wallace, test driver, via CNN. The prototype was developed with Italian race car manufacturer Dallara. The Bugatti Chiron reached the record-breaking speed on specially modified Michelin tires. The standard Bugatti Chiron has been clocked at 261 mph. The car sells for $3 million.
